Police in Galveston, Texas last week arrested a woman who refused to wear a face mask in a bank — after she taunted them and said, “What are you going to do, arrest me?”

Local news station KTRK reports that 65-year-old Terry Wright believed that she didn’t have to wear a mask inside a Galveston Bank of America branch because Texas Gov. Greg Abbott had rescinded his state’s mask mandate.

However, even though the state’s mask mandate had been repealed, private businesses still have the right to enforce their own mask mandates, which is something that Wright apparently didn’t comprehend.

A Galveston police officer asked Wright to either wear a mask or leave the bank five different times, at one point prompting her to incredulously ask if he was going to arrest her if she refused.

He proceeded to do just that by forcing her to the floor and handcuffing her before arresting her and charging her with resisting arrest and criminal trespass.

Despite her arrest, however, Wright tells KTRK she has no regrets about her refusal to wear a mask.

“My civil right is not to wear a diaper on my face, and that’s how I feel about it,” she insisted.
